Supporting a fairer, healthier, and more resilient food system for Gloucestershire

Our vision
A Gloucestershire where everyone has fair access to affordable and nutritious food, and nobody goes hungry.
Our mission
We connect people, projects and partners across Gloucestershire to understand and address food insecurity, strengthen local food systems, and build healthier and more connected communities.
We do this by encouraging collaboration, sharing learnings, and supporting communities to shift the system away from long-term reliance on emergency food aid, and towards more preventative and dignified forms of food support.
Through this work, we support people in Gloucestershire to access healthy, affordable food with dignity and the choice about what, where and when they eat.

Who we are
Feeding Gloucestershire began in 2022 to bring different voices together, formally becoming a charity in February 2024. As a regional partner of Feeding Britain, we work closely with district food networks and both county-wide and national partners.
Our role is to listen, connect, and support the systems and the people that tackle food insecurity. Through collaboration across the county, we aim to respond to immediate challenges and work for long-term change to address food and health inequality.
Our principles
Dignity
We champion dignified, person-centred approaches that respect people’s needs and experiences.
Equality
We work to ensure food support is accessible to everyone who needs it.
Partnership
We collaborate across sectors to address food insecurity and diet-related health challenges.
Evidence
We use data, learning and lived experience to inform and improve our work.
Our key focus areas
We focus on six key themes to guide our work addressing food insecurity, improving access to healthy, affordable food, and reducing food waste:
