How to get your free vitamins
While you receive Healthy Start payments, you are also entitled to free vitamins:
For women: Tablets containing Vitamins C, D, and folic acid.
For children: Drops containing Vitamins A, C, and D.
How to claim in Gloucestershire:
Local families can pick up free Healthy Start vitamins directly from their nearest Family Hub.
Steps to collect:
- Find your nearest hub on the Gloucestershire Family Hubs Directory.
- Visit during open hours and present your NHS Healthy Start prepaid card (or your official confirmation email/letter) as proof.
- Collect your 8-week supply of women’s tablets or children’s drops on the spot – no waiting for postage!
If you cannot get to your nearest Family Hub, please speak to your Health Visitor or Midwife, who can help you access vitamins in another way.
Alternatively, Healthy Start vitamins can be posted to you. In order to request vitamins posted to you, please reach out to HealthyStart@gloucestershire.gov.uk with a picture of your Healthy Start card, letting them know which vitamins you need and your postal address.
Note: No money is taken from your card for these vitamins. They are completely free.
