Independent Food Aid Network – Worrying About Money Leaflet

Feeding Gloucestershire, working alongside IFAN (Independent Food Aid Network) and the Trussell Trust  are rolling out a Cash First leaflet that sets out to provide clear signposting for anyone who is worrying about money and needs some advice.

Each district within Gloucestershire will have a unique leaflet that provides a step-by-step process to identify which local agencies are best placed to help people maximise income and access any existing financial entitlements. The aim of the project is to reduce the need for charitable food aid by helping people access any existing financial entitlements and advice on income maximisation as a cash first approach to food insecurity.

Phil Coysh, the Area Manager for Trussell Trust, has already supported the roll out of this leaflet for Stroud and the Cotswolds and now, Lizzie Dyer (Project Manager for Feeding Gloucestershire) is overseeing the roll out to Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, and the Forest of Dean. It is hoped that all districts will have a leaflet ready to print and distribute in March, 2023. You can see the Stroud and Cotswold leaflet here: https://www.worryingaboutmoney.co.uk/stroud-and-cotswold

This initiative is being supported by each District Council. The distribution of these leaflets will be different within each district but usually it is a combined effort from the Council and Community Organisations. The leaflets are also available online.

The content of this leaflet will be reviewed but it is designed to be valid and relevant for an extended length of time. Once each district has their leaflet printed and in circulation we will be running various training courses.
