Nourishing Gloucester Food Strategy

In September 2023 Gloucester City published Nourishing Gloucester, a food strategy for the City. Developed for the city by Gloucestershire Gateway Trust, Nourishing Gloucester reflects on the current situation by communities, from local to national level, and makes recommendations to overcome these issues.

Nourishing Gloucester Food Forum

During Feeding Gloucestershire’s launch in May 2023, organisations identified the need to develop a sustainable food network for the city, which aligns with the recommendations from the food strategy.

The first forum meeting was in November 2023 and explored what should be part of the vision for a sustainable food network, and how could this be achieved by 2030.

At the second forum meeting in February 2024 4 strands of work were identified

  • Community Growing
  • Accessible Fresh Local Food
  • Surplus and Distribution
  • Nutrition and Learning

Work has begun on the Community Growing Strand and the other working groups will be brought together in the near future.

Nourishing Gloucester now has a dedicated email account – [email protected] and social media channels
