Blakeney Hill Growers

Blakeney Hill Growers is a group of like-minded people seeking a healthier, more organic lifestyle that revolves around our neighbourhood, Blakeney Hill in the Forest of Dean.

The small-holding includes an orchard, herb garden, wild flower meadow, a fruit cage, a vegetable plot and a poly tunnel.

The level of of your involvement will be completely up to you. You might want to work on the land or share the milking and cleaning out of the goats. You may want to help care for the chickens or bees. Training and instruction will be given in all aspects.

To help us cover costs and become sustainable we need to charge a basic annual membership fee of £6. In addition there is a contribution in proportion to the level of your involvement. This can be paid annually or monthly.

We run a range of community events and activities – including making preserves

Forest Green Community Cafe and Food Project

The café and food pantry are open to EVERYONE and to ALL ages. There are hot drinks, biscuits, breakfast items, cakes, crafts and good company!

The Food Pantry will be open and accessible to all – please ask a volunteer if you need support with food. There aren’t any criteria for using the food pantry, whether you work or not, have children or not, claim benefits or not, visit the café or not. There are no questions asked just support.

The café is PAYF (Pay As You Feel), and this wouldn’t be possible without the support of volunteers, Forest Green Rovers Community, grants from organisations, food donations from the public and local supermarkets.
Come in and say hello, enjoy a drink and a chat.

We are able to refer to Stroud foodbank, they also attend every Thursday as the address is also a distribution point.
